“Heliotropes / I - Gulliver” is a video work created in 2013 with the Greek composer Sofia Koubli. The video belongs to the larger project HELIOTROPES, including “II - ICARE” and the upcoming video “III - DANTE”. The three videos are based on classic literature works such as Swift’s Gulliver or Dante’s Inferno. The trilogy consist in a cinematic project dedicated to travelling and melancholy. Using the image of the sun as a powerful attractor, it shows the impossible fight of three characters against melancholy and the way they rise and fall, guided by the burning star.
